Alyson Alvarez
Alyson is a second-time recipient of our CFN Scholarship. Her current GPA is 3.1. She has changed her major from Technical Theater to History. Because of her background in theater, she was invited to be part of a teaching assistant program at UNL that she will begin in the fall. She received awards from the Drama Teachers Association and recognition from California Educational Theater Association for excellence in theater. Statement of goals: “My immediate academic goals revolve around increasing my GPA from a current 3.1 to over a 3.5. As of my long term academic goals, I would like to graduate with my teaching credentials within three years and continue my education towards a master’s degree. Additionally, I plan to begin teaching as soon as possible. My goal is to become a high school history teacher but transition into a university position where I will have the opportunity to be able to teach as well as do my own research. It is also extremely important to me that I have my own family. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is allowing me to pursue my dream of helping to educate the children of America. I know that by attending UNL that I have a multitude of wonderful opportunities.” Click
